Hi mummy moon, I think Avent and Pigeon still quite safe for baby used. As long as we change the milk bottles every four to six months. We can get BPA free bottles in the market. But I don't know in M'sia, is it easier to get from normal supermarket??

Hi Bonnie,

It's not a problem sterilize baby bottles with boiled water. What the statement means is don't transfer the boiled water into the milk bottles for baby's consume. You know many parents will put the boiled water into the milk bottles to make the milk, and the boiled water + formula = milk = baby consume = not safe.

The better idea is use the lukewarm instead of boiled water.

Thanks for your comments and we keep in touch yah =)

I've just changed Wawa's bottle few days ago. From the World of Cartoon to BPA free Nuby bottle. SO far I love it cause its Non Drip Nipple. And consider the BPA (though not really understand) would be harmful to kids, I switched.

Reading this :
AVA has advised parents don’t put boiling water in baby’s bottles as hot water causes BPA to migrate out of the bottle at a higher rate. The boiled water should be transferred to milk bottles only after it is cool to lukewarm in a non-polycarbonate container for our baby’s safety.''

So is it mean we cannot sterilize baby bottles with boiled water? And after it's cool, can it still be use to sterilize? Cause not all parents will afford to buy a sterilizer. *confuse*

Btw, thanks for stop by my blog. :)

I actually bought Avent bottles for Baby Moon, but my mom said too big for little baby.. She doesn't like to use, so end up I gave the brand new bottles to my colleague. My colleague very happy! Haaa..
It's advisable to change bottles every half years but how many of the parents really change? If I didn't read the news and no awareness about the chemical bisphenol, I think I won't change also.. Only change the teats.. Hehe..
Our eyes really can't "see" those chemicals..

Hi Mummy. You got me thinking about Ryan's bottle too. He is using four Avent bottles since day 1. Just changed all the teats. Frightening to hear what you just post. Looks like it's shopping AGAIN...sigh....
